This year’s high school musical is The Old Man and the Old Moon. An epic tale of an old man who must abandon his duties of filling up the moon with liquid light to cross the seas in search of his missing wife. He hides his identity, lies, and winds up in a whirlwind of trouble.

ASD’s Sahifa calls it “an imaginative sea-faring epic, encompassing apocalyptic storms, civil wars, leviathans of the deep, and cantankerous ghosts, as well as the fiercest obstacle of all: change.”

The large cast clearly enjoyed themselves as they showed HS students a glimpse of their variety of dancing, musical and sound effect talents.                Photo by Omar A.

The old man ‘s important job is challenged by his obligation to his lost love. Audiences will enjoy the fable-like quality of the story as well as the acting talents of ASD’s HS student actors.      Photo by Omar A.
