The Tri-M Music Honor Society inducted 18 new members to chapter 7218. The ceremony took place in the warm elementary breezeway on Tuesday.

The ceremony began with speeches from the six executives and the chapter adviser, Mr. Jim Kulpa, and then the inductees proceeded to the stage to recite their pledges. Once they had been inducted, there were wonderful performances by K. Lofton (’23), A. Walker (’23), and a High School Musical inspired duet from C. Wheatley (’22) and L. Ji (’22).

Tri-M is known at ASD for its monthly lunch concerts and talented musicians both vocally and instrumentally.

The local group belongs to a national honor society by the same name, and Tri-M is a program of the National Association for Music Education which encourages students to develop confidence, creativity, critical thinking, and compassion through performance and community service. The organization also advocates for music education.

ASD’s Tri-M group is busy preparing new material.

Come attend the next lunch concert Oct. 31 in the theater lobby!
